Mission Imperatives

In the midst of the pandemic in 2020, NETWorks embarked on developing our first ever strategic plan. A big undertaking, the plan would outline where NETWorks would go over the next 3 years and how we would get there.

First, though, we needed to know who we were. We spent time talking about what was important. We asked church partners and volunteers and program participants who we were, how they felt when they visited NETWorks. And some themes emerged.

We now call those themes our Missional Imperatives. There are four of them:

Love Your Neighbor As Yourself

Represent and Reflect

Liberate Potential

Walk Alongside

Each of these imperatives are modeled by our staff and volunteers every day. Yet we still strive to embody them more and better in each of our interactions. Interactions with people coming to us for help. Interactions with donors of food. Interactions with donors of funds. Interactions with donors of their time as volunteers. Interactions with the larger community and our community leaders.

Because the better we put these imperatives into action, the stronger our community will be and the better we will serve every person we encounter.
